Golden Gate Park

We decided to take an easy day when we were in San Francisco and we headed out to the park. This was a really cool park to visit! I was amazed how many kids were there and what a relaxed environment it was. Mickey got to explore the park with both her daddy and her Uncle Dave. My mom and I were talking that this was the kind of park that you see in movies or TV shows that you always wonder, "who has a park like that?".

Every time she saw pigeons she insisted on chasing them!

Making cakes with some girls that she befriended at the park.

Mickey and this little girl were rather
adventurous with filling a bucket with sand.

Dancing in the Rain

I live in the desert, which means that there is little rain. I look forward to the monsoons all year because we have rain. Mickey experienced a sprinkle today and decided to do a little dancing in the rain. She had a blast. Nothing like seizing the moment.

When I started this gardening adventure I wasn't sure that it was going to pay off. I thought that I was going to fail miserably. But with a little guidance from my mom (the green thumb queen), my garden has taken a turn for the better.

It has been a good learning experience for both Mickey and I. Lately she has been more into watering than she has been. Her idea of watering was to go into the back yard to play with the dogs. Everyday she inspects and sees how the veggies have grown. She asks if it is time to pick them. She likes the picking part not so much the eating part. Yet.

Golden Gate & Alcatraz

On the same day that we went to aquarium we went on a ferry boat ride. It took us into the bay and we got to be up close to the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. I loved this it was great for photo taking opportunities! I would highly suggest taking this ferry ride to anyone who is in the San Francisco area.

Bad Hair Days

When tourists visit San Francisco we like to take our picture in front of Golden Gate Bridge. What most people don't know is when you go up to the viewing point to look down at the bridge it is WINDY. And when you go on one of those cruise ships, it is WINDY.

I really needed a cap to make my crazy hair a little more presentable but I didn't. So here are my touristy pictures, having a bad hair day, enjoying life with my family.

Do you see the deer?

Mickey has an imagination. Today's adventure was having deer over. Why? Because deer are our friends. Out of no where Mickey tells me that we need to take a picture with the deer. She runs over to the decided place and says Momma get your camera out! So what does momma do?? I get my camera out and take her picture with her deer friends. I see them, do you??

Some more aquarium pics

Just wanted to share these. I just like how they came out and I didn't use the green auto feature but manual mode!

One of the other things we did while in SF was to go to the Aquarium that is on Pier 39. Grammie Syl, Grandpa Bob, Uncle Dave & Flora joined us for the adventure. This was a smaller aquarium than we had visited before but it was still exciting. It was broken up to 3 parts. First the introduction, then under the water and then a hands on exhibit which was quite fun for Mickey and dare I say for the adults too? I think that one of the fun things for me was to see Grandpa Bob, Uncle Dave and Flora try to bid for Mickey's attention. It is always fun to enjoy thing like this through a child's eyes!

I think that a favorite part of all was the hands on part. They had baby sting rays and baby sharks, star fish and sea cucumbers available to touch. Mickey was not real sure about the whole thing when we started. But on our 2nd time around she was ready to put her hands on these creatures!

Seeing the sting ray's for the first time

Small Town Girl

I was raised in small towns. Some towns were not even big enough to be called towns or even had a grocery store. When I was older we moved out to an area where each family had a 5 acre lots so our neighbors were not close by. Wide Open Spaces, that is what I am comfortable with.

So when we went to San Francisco I had a little bit of culture shock. This small town girl, that is used to wide open spaces saw the neighborhoods, let's just say I was fascinated. Now I knew that houses were like this because I had seen shows, movies or photographs, but I had never truly experienced it. I took a few photos while were in the car because I was in awe. It was good to see but was also good that I could go back home and have my space. See I am an introvert, hermit, homebody or whatever you want to call me and I am comfortable with my space. :)

The homes are beautiful here. They have such vibrant colors. The graduation party was in one of these homes and it was beautiful inside too. I kept saying look how close together they are! Look how tiny their garage openings are! Look they share a wall! I guess I am showing how uncultured I am but it was fascinating to me.
